How to add a Custom Domain in your Dreamhost account
First, access your Lander Account Settings and look for the Add a Custom Domain section. Next, write down the domain or subdomain you want to add (e.g. in this case we’ll name our subdomain “tutorials”) and click on Add Domain. When you click there, you’ll see that the new domain will turn yellow, don’t worry, we still have a few more steps.
Next, access your hosting provider’s account. In this example, we’ll show you how to do it in Dreamhost.
So, first, log in to your Dreamhost account and click on the Manage Domains options in the Toolbox on the upper left. Then select the DNS link underneath the domain that you want to set up.
Now, once that’s completed, add a custom DNS Record, near the top of the page. After that it’s time to type in the name of your subdomain. Following the example we provided above you should now write Tutorials. However, if you have no website living on this domain and you're just going to use the root of the domain for example: "www.mysite.com" then you'll just want to enter "www" and that’s all.
Once you’ve done that, select the CNAME from the Type dropdown and enter www.mylanderpages.com (remember you always need to have whatever cname you configure point to www.mylanderpages.com) always. So, just click on “Add Record Now” and your custom domain will now be ready.
Keep in mind that CNAMEs can, in some cases, take up to 48 hours to propagate. Ok, let’s go back to Lander’s Account Settings, and you should see that now your Subdomain has turned green. That means it’s working!
Finally go to your Landing page's Dashboard and select the custom domain as the URL of your Landing page. Publish this changes, and you’re all set, now your Landing Pages can be shown under your own domain! Remember, if you’re still not sure or having trouble with this set up, you can always call us or email us for help at support@landerapp.com.
